Hello! I published early this week, because I’m heading to what we in Seattle call Other Washington.

No promises I can single-handedly end the shutdown, but if I see Mike Johnson, I will ask him how allowing people to go hungry in the richest country in the world squares with his faith. My main goal for the trip is to learn more about Citizen-Led Solutions, and yes, I will report back.

In the meantime: no Zoom on November 3rd. I thought I could make it work from the road, but the logistics are just too tricky. Let’s plan to regroup on the first Monday in December (12/1/25 at 5:30pm PT/8:30pm ET), at which point we can at least celebrate having endured nearly a full year of this clown show.
