Confirming We're On for Monday

Image: It says something about April 2020 that I stayed up late making a Zoom diorama for Easter. It says something about Peeps that they haven’t degraded one iota in five years.

This week’s post came out early, so this message is just to confirm that we’re on for our monthly Zoom this coming Monday, July 7th at 5pm PT / 8pm ET. I’ve now had the giddy experience of removing trolls in real time, so I’m no longer worried about posting the link.

My thought for this Zoom is to go ‘round the horn and give each person a chance to share where their thoughts are right now.

We’re all consuming so much news—most of it terrible. I try to find my way forward by writing at regular intervals, but I think anything that presses ‘pause’ on intake and instead asks you to make sense of what you already know is a valuable exercise.

So: don’t attend this one for debate. Don’t attend for marching orders. And for heaven’s sake, don’t attend for answers. Please just come if listening to people grapple out loud—and doing your own grappling—feels to you like a good use of your time and energy.
